K_Db Update (Tuesday, 05/27/2008)

After a long time I updated K_Db to version 2.5.0. There are a few but extensive changes:

• Events can now be set inactive
• Changed event list for admin pages
• Changed layout of statistics page
• More filters for views
• Moved some layout elements from html to css
• When filtering by grand_total, discount was not considered
• When sorting a filtered view, the filter was reset
• More minor bug fixes

In addition to a new K_Db version there will be a new software available to generate and conduct online surveys. So stay tuned.

K_Db Update (Sunday, 02/25/2007)

K_Db reached version 2.4.5. These are the latest changes:

• view_show.inc.php: number of entries is shown.
• No-login page shows current and coming events.
• New option: Organisation name (used for "forgot my password" emails).
• Columns in views_show.inc.php can now be sorted by clicking on the table header.
• Changed session management.
• admin/registration_edit.php showed always "Authorization Required". Fixed.
• Some text in forms_preview.inc.php was not displayed. Fixed.

K_Db Update (Friday, 12/29/2006)

I just released K_Db 2.4.0 − a little earlier than promised. The following things were changed:

• Added 'allow_email' option so users can select to receive promotional emails.
• Better UI für editing fees.
• New options for "views": 'selectable only with chosen event', 'edit entries'.
• Error messages are now displayed at the top of the page.
• Menu points for editing were accessible even if editing was not allowed. Fixed.
• Short title of events is checked for dublicate entries. Short title, Title of the event and Conference email have to be filled out to add event.
• Now checking if ROOT_EMAIL or Conference/Webmaster email is set before sending email.
• More minor bug fixes

Homepage Update (Tuesday, 12/26/2006)

The homepage has been updated as You might notice. But not only the look has changed. The homepage is now available in English and German. The language is chosen according to the language settings of Your browser.

K_Db has been updated to version 2.3.5. TODO.txt contains all changes that have been made (mostly bug fixes). The release of K_Db 2.4.0 with a lot of new features is planned for the beginning of january.

ChemBase2 is now available in version 2.0.1. The following changes where made:

• The sorting algorithm has been refined
• Import of CSV files
• Distributors are now sorted alphabetically

K_Db Update (Friday, 09/08/2006)

K_Db 2.3 has been released a little while ago - I just did not have time to update my homepage. The latest release (a couple of days ago) is 2.3.3. Here are some of the changes for 2.3

• Login is now possible with email or registration number.
• New registrations can be checked if email already exists.
• An external style sheet can be specified for the registration pages.
• A discount can now be given.
• Added option to use a global registration form.
• Users may change their password.
• Data deleted by admins is moved to "trashcan" instead (to make mistakes undoable).
• Better system for payment options.
• Added preview for registration form.
• Plug-in interface

K_Db Update (Friday, 12/09/2005)

K_Db 2.2.1 is a small bugfix release. Here are the changes:

• Now checking if "kdb_check_cfe" and "kdb_write_cfe" exist.
• Check if registration start date or registration end date is set improved.

K_Db 2.3 is on the way. There will probably a release for testing before christmas. Among the additions are discounts for registered users, groups for admin users and a plugin interface.

K_Db Update (Wednesday, 11/23/2005)

K_Db has been updated to 2.2.0. Among the changes and additions are:

• Added fields for date on which registration starts and date on which registration ends.
• Added possibility to send confirmation email bcc to e.g. the conference office.
• Custom form elements are now possible. Either change the style of existing form elements (e.g. use select element instead of a textbox) or reuse a form element for a complete different purpose.

After a long break K_Db 2.1.1 is finally finished. It contains a lot of addition, some of which are:

• Fixed table header when viewing registration data (admin interface)
• Statistics on finances
• Download all submitted files as zip archive
• Names of form elements can now be customized

K_Db Update (Saturday, 11/27/2003)

K_Db 2.0.6 fixes still more bugs, especially handling submission of abstracts. A few new features were added ad well ("New event"-button, better warnings when deleting users, viewing all registered users). See the TODO file in the distribution for details.

K_Db 2.0.1 is available. This release fixes a bug in views.inc.php and adds the possiblity for online updates.

Homepage Update (Saturday, 09/04/2003)

After a little more than a year K_Db 2.0 is finally finished. See the K_Db section for details.

ChemBase2 is a software for chemikal stockkeeping, I wrote for my working group, which I am releasing now to the public. As K_Db it is based on PHP and MySQL. You can find it in the Download section.

There are a few other projects I am working on right now - so expect further updates in the near future.

Launched CRONIC.DE (Saturday, 07/19/2003)

For the first time since I started Cronic IT, I found the time to program the homepage for Cronic IT. There are still some parts missing - especially the page about k_db, a web application for conference management (registration, submission of abstracts, etc.). It has already been tested at a couple of conferences, but there are a some parts to be rewritten (and documented) before I can release it. If you need k_db right now, just contact me under matthias.adler@cronic.de.
