Here you can change the database and security settings as well as the languages used for administration and registration. For further information to the different options move your mouse over the corresponding form field. A tooltip will show details to the setting.
First you will be asked for a short title of the event. This short title will be used to identify the event in drop down form lists and the like. A more descriptive title can be set below under "Information for the event".
The language of the registration pages might be different from the administration pages, you can choose it according to your needs.
If you want to have a disclaimer displayed before the user can register, select "Show disclaimer when registering".
If "Allow user login" is selected, the user receives a password after registration and may log in to change his registration data, upload abstracts, etc. If mulitple abstracts are to be submitted and/or an extensive program is to be booked, you might want to turn this on.
"Maximum number of files/abstracts" sets the maximum number of files a user is allowed to submit. If set to 0, files/abstracts cannot be submitted.
With the next two fields you may set the "Text for confirmation" displayed on the website and send by email after registration, respectively. The text may be personalized using the variables stated. A text for confirmation might look like this:
Dear $salutation$ $familyname$, Thank You for registering for $event_title$. Your registration number is $reg_id$ and Your password $passwd$. Use this password to log in to the registration area and change Your details. If You need further assistance, please contact our conference office under $event_email$. Your registration details: $FORM_DATA$
By default the user is redirected to the login page after registration. You may change this by entering a valid URL or a local filename under "After registration jump to URL".
This section contains additional descriptive information about the event.
The statistics page displays information on the events managed by K_Db. If no event is selected, the page shows which events are currently active (Title and period of the event). Additionally some K_Db sanity checks are performed. The most important one is "Directory upload writable". If this is not the case, no files can be uploaded. The other information displayed is the K_Db version you are running, the path you installed K_Db into and the login mode for admins.
If an event is selected you see the statistics for the event, how many registrations there are for each subevent as well as the owing and received payments. Additionally K_Db displays the URLs to use when setting links to the registration and user login pages.
